Soccer has been around since the 15th century in one form or another. It became extremely popular in England in the early 19 century. Since it is an enthusiastic sport, fight eruptions are a common place. There were no referees and no one would make them to adhere to the rules.
Clubs in England collaborated to form the Football Association in 1865. Even today, the Association functions as an adhesive, binding together the football clubs.
